00 Sierra won't start.

Checosd

Question

Hello everybody. I need some help. I have 2000 GMC Sierra SLE with the Vortec 5300 5.3 L with 250,800+ miles. It won't start, engine turns. It started with a hard start on the second try and it would stay on, I'll put it on drive and it would accelerate to about 15mph quickly.. now if it starts it won't stay on unless I am accelerating. Its emitting white smoke that smells like fuel. The check engine light is not on so I can not run the computer. Anybody have a clue what's its going on. I'm thing fuel regulator.

Thanks Scott. I just read your post. I already did that. I change the fuel pump and the fuel filter. I had check the fuel pressure and it was very low. Now with the new pump the pressure is good. Engine turns but it just won't start. So now I'm thinking the fuel pressure regulator. But I would still like other opinions.
