I had family staying at the house and couldn't get out.

Is that a 12ga? Isn't that a goose gun? I don't think that's legal for dove in Texas, is it? I thought 28ga was required for dove? :D

Yes, 12 ga. Takes anything from 2 3/4 dove loads to 3 1/2 magnums. Cycled the 1 1/8 oz loads perfectly.

28ga?! Ha. That goes against Texas' mantra of "Everything is bigger in Texas". :smash:

When are you going to make it out? I'm super antsy to get back out there. Unfortunately, full time job and online full time college is, well, full time. My bad for scheduling during hunting seasons...

You telling me that IS a "Texas 28 ga" ?

I may miss the first dove season.

Different scale here... :M16: I'm still new here to the state so it's an adjustment

Did you get that foxwing installed and tested yet? Would've come in handy the other day.

No on the Foxwing. Still haven't got my topper from Snugtop. Can't mount the Foxwing without it. I ordered it in July, but they hadn't made the mold for the HiLiner at that time. I checked a week or two ago and they were supposed to finish the mold about now. Mine should be one of the first. I ordered side "windoors" that open upward. I'll put some wire mesh on the inside so the dogs can't get out. That should help keep the dogs cool when it's warm.

Doves have really become a bigger thing in Iowa in the last couple of years. Been meaning to give it a try. OP got me to where I need to call a couple of friends and see about getting in on this. Great Post!

I ran into a friend at the clays range yesterday. We made plans to go to Yuma for a couple days next week. Should be a HOT shoot. I don't know if there'll be many birds, but Yuma is always worth 108-115F this time of year. I'm dreading the heat.

Make sure the cooler is full of icy beverages. And sunscreen. I forgot sunscreen last time...

Gonna take the 3:10? Sorry I had to.

Actually just watched that again not to long ago. +1 for the reference.
