Rattle in dash behind lower glove box

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else experienced the rattle in the dash that is either in the lower glove box or behind it?? I have had it into the dealership 2 times for this first time they tried tightning up the hindges that did not work. Second time they replaced the lower glove box now its worse.

I removed the upper and lower glove box and the rattle is still present early in the morning but then goes away after the truck is driven about 20 miles. Any thoughts??

are you sure that's where it is coming from? My truck is only a few weeks old, and I heard a rattle that did sound like it was coming from the dash or even the passenger door panel. Turns out it was this little clip in the overhead console for the sunglasses holder, see this post here:

Thanks for your reply Steve. Yes, I saw this post in the past and looked into the clip in the overhead console and that is not where the rattle is coming from. I took out my lower glove box as if I were checking my cabin filter and drove it this morning and the rattle was alllot less than with it in.

My next step will be to take out the upper to see if it stops all together. Very annoying!

ok, hope you find it!

also check the plastic shroud just below the glove box, it is known to cause rattling noises too. Check out what member "ilduces" posted in this thread on page 1 and 2:
