Power Folding Mirrors Don't

The power folding mirrors both stopped folding on my 09 1500 Silverado about two years ago. Of coarse out of warranty. Since then I've looked on line and found out that this is somewhat a common problem. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how you solved it. Is there any chance of repair? How about aftermarket quality. I have seen some on Ebay.

Did they both fail at the same time? And I assume you checked the fuse?

I did check the fuse. But no, they didn't fail at the same time. One about six months before the other. Thanks for your reply.

My driver side failed about 50k miles. My pass. side still works. I've read into the somewhat common issue as well and I believe you have to replace the entire piece. I checked at the dealership about fixing it internally to function again, but they said I have to replace the entire piece at @ $5-600 I think was the quote. I haven't had any luck finding something on ebay,etc. I will probably just replace mine with manual folding option.

 

Not sure about yours but when I try to fold mine I can hear the motor trying to fold it but its stuck.

If you dont use them often they will get stuck/bind up. Do it a few times by hand then try
