2.5inch level with 305/55R20 tires

Hey, I'm new to this site. Just put a 2.5inch RC leveling kit in my 2014 silverado 4x4. I really want to get 305/55r20 Nitro trail grapplers on some 20x9 rims +18 offset. I'm wondering if anyone has this setup and what kind of rubbing issues you have if any. I'd love to see some pics or even suggestions on the next tire size down that would fit if the 305s don't. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks guys

I would suggest the 295s. the Nittos spec out kinda big you can squeeze a 305 in it but your gonna have to do some trimming.

@Enthusiast...very nice truck! How is the noise?

I cant speak for @Enthusiast but IMO the tire noise for any tire on these trucks are less due to the new cab design and sound deadening engineered in these trucks. I don't even hear my tires till I get over 80 but I run a different tire. From experience I think the Nitto Trails are pretty quiet for how aggressive they are. Same goes for the Toyos. Although these are mud tires not ATs.

I have bilstein leveling shocks @ highest setting plus an extra 1" block in rear, I keep debating what tire size to go w/ myself...nearly relegated to getting 275/60/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers due to being so close to stock tire weight, anything in the 275/65 size is LT 10 ply and weight jumps up to 57-60 lbs

Now I recently discovered that Nitto makes the Terra Grappler in 305/55/r20 which is listed as 33.2" tire (275/60 is 32.9" & 275/65 is 34") - they list two different weights for this tire which I imagine is 1 being LT the other being P or whatever, anyhow the 305/55r20's are ONLY 49 lbs - thats close enough to the stock Wrangler SR-A weight of 43 lbs that I wouldn't consider 6 lbs of additional unsprung weight per corner to translate into a noticeable drop in acceleration/mpg.

Except - only question would be: can I mount those on the stock 20" AT wheels, will I have enough clearance or will they rub, and will the increased width/contact patch equate to mpg loss despite the weight not being that much greater?

crushNchowda,

I have those Nittos in that size mounted on 20x9 +18 offset wheels. I am running a 2.5" RC leveling kit with 1" rear block. I have a slight rub in reverse at full lock on the inner fender liner that happens 50% of the time. Nitto calls them a XL and they measure in at 32.5" mounted on the truck at 38psi. They are slightly louder than the stock Goodyears, but seem to ride and drive better.

I went from 20mpg to 19mpg on my 30 mile commute that is mostly 55mph. Acceleration is not affected much.

I originally only had the lower spacer from the RC kit in (which gives 2" of lift) and the tires seemed to rub in the same spot, the same amount of time.

These tires will fit on your stock wheels, but will rub the sway bar and most likely the inner fender liner at full lock.

Overall, I like that these are not as heavy as the other options out there. I also tow a 27ft enclosed trailer (approx. 5500#) and they seem fine. They may not last as long as a 10 ply, but that is the trade-off.
