I need to beat duramax and BBtune review

Recommended Posts

Ok so I finally installed it.

He gave me an 87 tune and a 93 tune

The tune was worth it that's all I have to say. Oh and that I feel like I got a new tuck(:

I was impressed with the dramatic change my 0-60 untuned was around 11 to 12 seconds. We'll now on 93 it's a little under 8 seconds. The truck has cold air ttb spacer a mild cam and long tubes with 4:10s on 35s.

What else could I do to change my 1/4 mile and 0-60 my brother has a duramax and I have to beat him. I installed a egr block off and ppe tuner on his truck. We will both most likely be running 245s at the track in October.

I was thinking a stall will help but what size and how much will it help?

Should I have went with a bigger cam?

Current .520"intake/.524exhaust"lift. 266 intake/270 exhaust duration

Duration at .050 is 212 intAke/ 216 exhaust

Lobe separation angle 115

Could cut outs help?

Yea but the labor is huge. The trans needs to come out i think

That's fine I helped a friend do two clutches on both his trucks so I'll have the hands. It really just needs to move back abt 8 or so inches. As of right now I'm thinking I should have went with a bigger cam... Hmmmm still could

What year Duramax? Does he have built tranny? Crew cab? Lift pump?Tie rod sleeves?

07 lbz and stock tranny he said he will wait till it blows. I did a egr block of and got him a PPE tuner for his bday. He won't 4wd lunch it so he doesn't get very good hook up. Tie rods sleeves are a no he doesn't want to pay for an alignment and luckily he has put got a boost valve yet...

It's a single cab 8ft bed work truck leveled on 35s crank windows.

He can do a mild launch, RCLB lbz's will run low 13 on a hot tune if tranny doesn't slip...with built tranny they can go into 12's with stock air/fuel and EFI live. With PPE on level 4 it will probly slip in 5th but with a decent 60' time on a mild launch I bet low 13's if he's good at the tree.

The only thing you have to your advantage here is weight. You can make 900+ ft-lbs with an lbz with only a tune...but they weigh alot and traction is an issue in 2wd.

FYI, boost valves are for lb7's won't work on a 04.5 or higher due to the VVT turbo. It will make 32 with a good tune, no need to go any higher. Turbo is out of it's map after 32.

If only that truck was forsale when I was looking for one... He got it for $4800 clean but has miles. With all the money I have into my truck that duramax could be running 11s. We did a quick race from a 10

roll he got a half a car length maybe a little more by 60 mph.
