Grab a 2014 or wait on a 2015"

I'm a new member to the boards, and was hoping y'all could give me some good advice? I'm in the market for a Silverado LTZ 4wd, but am trying to decide if I should grab a 2014...or possibly order a 2015. Does anyone have any thoughts? If I were to order a 2015, how long does that typically take?

Any help would be appreciated!

I've been contemplating this very question. After my three test drives I've basically come up with a resounding wait decision. It sucks because I won't be able to get the color I want. But two of the three 2014s I've test driven in the last month have vibrated right off the lot with less than 20 miles on them.

As much as I like the Topaz Blue I can't gamble 35K + on a luck of the draw I get one that works. I mean it seems a minimum of 20-25% of these 2014 have problems. Those aren't odds I want to play with that much money. But that's just me.

Fair enough. But I wonder what makes them change with 2015? Your talking virtually the same truck, not like the lines or manufacturing process will change.

Trust me I'm not saying the problems will be resolved on the 15s. If I had to guess the 8 speed tranny on the 6.2s late in the model year may have an impact on the vibration problem. Not a big enough sample size on the 15s yet to even make an educated guess what the problems will be.

I got a 14 about a month ago and love it. I'm not sure what this vibration is I keep hearing of but apparently I don't have it. Got around 1500 miles now and haven't noticed anything but smooth very quite ride. I would be skeptical of the 8 speed tranny if anything. It's all new and bound to have a at least a few issues. I purchased a slt sierra cc 4x4. Lists for almost 52 and got it for 44 including taxes. I was happy with that.

I think the 14 will be a better deal for virtually the same truck but, on Jan. 1 it will be a model year older even though you have only had it a couple months.

Look at it another way, is is worth another 200~300 a month in payment to have an 2015?

Or would you rather have that money to buy candy. (parts)

Financing is generally less than $20 per $1,000 over the average 60 month loan.

The above $200-300 is high unless you are talking about a 36 month term.

As far as buy now or wait. When the 14's are gone, the deals on the 15's will start rolling.

Cannot imagine GM or Ford for that matter not giving in on some discounts when RAM

does it to finance their market share.
