Axle Code

Where would I find the front axle code on a 1996 K1500? Engraved on the medal somwhere or a sticker? I seen where a sticker is missing but doesnt help me now. It should have a code somewhere that starts with a "Z". Here is the info:

 

(88-96I K1,2) AXLE CODE;ZLS, ZLT, ZLW ZLX, ZLY
(96I-97 K1,2) AXLE CODE;ZWA, ZWB, ZWD ZWF, ZWG
(94-96I K3) AXLE CODE;ZLX, ZLY, ZLZ
(96I-97 K3) AXLE CODE;ZWF, ZWG, ZWH

Can you take your VIN to the dealer and have them run it to give you complete info on your truck? Or maybe the RPO list in the glovebox door will have that info for you?
