Fuel Neck Issues 2015 Yukon XL Denali

Recommended Posts

Just curious if anyone else has this issue or just me. I have a 2015 Yukon XL Denali and it seems whichever gas station I go to, I have a problem with the fuel nozzle staying in place and allowing me to set the hold feature while it fuels up. If I do, it lasts a second and pops out. I literally have to stand there for all 31 gallons and hold the nozzle in place while it fuels up. At this point, my wife will not even go to the gas station and fill it up herself. I already took it in for this (Among several other things) and they do not see an issue??

Thoughts??

Your welcome,Try rotating the nozzle slightly in different directions and/or not putting it in so far. Very common problem on many vehicles going back for years.

We have a 2015 Tahoe with this same issue. We had read this post before taking it in and noted the possibility of "improper installation," but dealer said it was installed properly. Dealer said they checked for fuel leaks and tests were normal. They said we weren't putting the nozzle in correctly. We countered that at every gas station we have this issue and that we have never had a problem with other vehicles. We asked them to "show us" how to fuel it. Service rep said he couldn't do that for us. We are now visiting several gas stations and documenting our attempts to fuel the Tahoe automatically -- so far unsuccessfully. We are bringing it back to the dealer after the holidays and pursuing a fix for this issue....

MMC is WAY out of line and newdude is wrong on this one.

It is a real issue. We have a new 2015 Suburban and are experiencing the same problem. Very, very frustrating.

GM, any solutions forming out there?

Note: This could be a regional issue. I did not have any problems in Montana or Utah. I first experienced the problem in California. Could it be limited to certain manufacturers of the rubber boot on the fuel hose at the gas station or possible the settings required in California?

I'm curious if blane found a solution?

Bottom line, anyone who reads this thread should not respond as MMC did. It's a real issue.

Our 2015 Tahoe went back in today to look at the "fuel neck" issue. They consulted GM back east to see if they could help with a fix -- but sadly, to no avail. They said everything is installed properly and tests out as it should. They could not fix the problem.

HOWEVER, this time the dealership did acknowledge the problem (it wasn't us!), told us other owners are complaining of the same problem, and that GM is aware of the problem. Unfortunately, at this time, GM doesn't know what causes the problem, and they don't have a fix -- yet. There are some theories, but nothing solid.

We plan to keep checking online forums, and following up with the dealership. It is unacceptable to have such difficulties when fueling up your new vehicle!

blane - forget GM having a fix and you checking online forums trying to figure this out, the dealer acknowledged the problem (fuel neck not installed properly). Tell them to adjust the neck and see it if works. Adjusting worked for glamis44, the vehicles are different but the fuel necks should be similar. The neck has to be at a bad angle.
