I freaking hate it! My 2012 3500 has it. It's ok during the summer and when not pulling a trailer. But winter time with the snow and slush and pulling a snowmobile trailer. Them stupid things suck. Is there anyway to disable them so I don't have to keep pushing the check button. Or listen to it beeping like crazy at first. I've hit the button in the console a million times. But it always turns back on. Is there a fuse or wire I can just pull to disable them???

Have you looked at this thread? It only covers up to 2011 but????

http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/140175-rear-park-assist-force-disabled/?p=1222662&hl=fuse&fromsearch=1

My guess is that it is the cold weather and snow or slush if you have any of that.

I found info at http://www.dieselpla...ad.php?t=410959 on how to completely shut off they system (see below) but it might reset it by following the second part of the instructions (pull neg. battery cable) without pulling the fuse mentioned in step 1.

Disabling Rear
Park Assist

On 2007-2011 Silverado and Sierra models, owners or
aftermarket upfitters that remove the rear bumper, install
a different rear bumper, add a different box/flat bed/cube
box/hitch or make other modifications to the rear of the
truck, may need to disable the Rear Park Assist option
(RPO UD7) from the vehicle.
Follow the instructions below for the model year of the
vehicle involved:
1. For all model years, disable the Rear Park Assist
module by removing the OBS DET fuse 20 (10
amp) from the left instrument panel fuse block
2a. For 2007-2009 models, contact Techline
Customer Support at 1-800-828-6860 to obtain an
Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) calibration to
disable the Rear Park Assist option.
2b. For 2010-2011 models, remove power to the IPC
for several minutes by disconnecting the battery
and then reconnect. When power is restored, the
IPC will not see the Park Assist Module (disabled
in Step 1) on the low speed data buss. It will
reconfigure the IPC without Rear Park Assist.
After this process is complete, the Park Assist
Warning Messages will not be displayed.

On my 2011 just having a trailer hitch w/ball installed causes it to send a message "park assist blocked see owners manual". It still works but getting that message is annoying. I intend to leave the hitch installed to protect the truck from the "park by feel/bump people"

That's normal, manual even mentions it.

Just did that post. It worked! Unhooked battery, pulled fuse, let truck sit dead for a few minutes, put negative wire back on, fired truck up. Reset my clocks time and auto dual zone settings to where I keep it. Put truck in reverse. And no beeping. No messages!!!! SAAWEEETTT! Thanks guys!!!
