Leveling kit + body lift

Recommended Posts

Just had a zone 1.5" body lift added to my 2.5" rc level kit.  Turned out great looks mean but still need a beefier tire and bora wheel spacers or some new wheels with an offset but not too aggressive.

Sorry not the greatest photo yet. Damn snow.

I'll post more pictures this weekend. I think 35x12.50 tires would fit with minor plastic trimming and the right offset that would prevent them from rubbing on the control arms. I will eventually switch over to 20" wheels and run either 295/60/r20s, 295/65/r20s, or 285/65/r20s. I'm confident all of those sizes would work with this set up on 20" wheels.

I’m running running 285/65/20 on a 2.5” level,l (stock wheels) so you can definitely run bigger with your set up.

I’ve got 2 different Level and Body Lift Setups I’ll be posting.

First couple of pictures are 2.5” Rough Country Level with Rear blocks, 2” Performance Accessories body lift on 295/55/20 Toyo Open Country AT 2 Extreme tires, factory wheels.

Next Couple are same setup, plus 1.5” Hubcentric Wheel Adapters.

I personally went with the 2” body lift because I already had a 2.5” Level on it and I was looking to have 4-5” of lift on the truck.  The 2” body lift cost me $800 installed vs $2,500 for a 4 or 5” suspension lift to achieve the same look basically.  Overall I am very happy with my setup.  Sitting at 4.5” total lift over stock, I am right where I wanted to be with it.   Still not settled on the 1.5” Wheel Adapters all the way around.  I like it, but they may stick out a bit farther than I really want them to and I’m not 100% sure I trust them, especially on the front.   I had them on my old 2006 2500HD Diesel on the rear and towed heavy with it, with no problems.  Just still undecided.   The Wife likes it better without them on.

And for the record, with these factory wheels, I am 100% confident 1.25” Wheel Adapters would work......and about 90% sure 1” would work.   These wheels have a pocket on the back side that is at or just over 1/2” deep.   Studs are 1”.  I may attempt 1” Adapters and see what happens.

Looks great perfect set up Imo

I installed the zone 1.5” along with the 2.5” Level from rough country. The zone kit was only for 13-15 trucks. Everything fit perfectly except the front bumper hardware. The kit didn’t have nuts for the front bumper mounts. So a quick trip to that hardware store and I was back to business.
I stuck some 295-65-18 Nitto ridge grapples with a black rhino wheel -11 offset.
I absolutely love the set up 24a554a082bfaee256f78caa712b0b94.jpg5ee737aba6c8edbd1e84a23797288873.jpg

I just installed the Zone 3.5” combo kit on my 2014 Chevy Silverado. It’s a 2” leveling kit in the front and 1.5” body lift. Tires are brand new Nitto Ridge Grapplers (35 x 12.5 R22). There was a lot of skepticism going into this and even the discount tire guys were reluctant to testfit the 35 on there. But man, I’m glad I did. Slight rubbing at full turn, and I trimmed a couple of inches out of the fender liner. But nothing major, no metal trimming needed.

Pictures do not do this thing justice

Looks good!  Looks like the same 22" wheels that are on my 2018 Z71 with 285/45/22 tires.  Any rub?  Did you replace the stamped steel UCAs when you did the level/lift?

Thanks man!

Yep its the stock 285/45/22 wheels with Duelers on them. No rub at all even with the mud flaps if anything it made more clearance. Didnt replace the steel ucas ... The level was only part that changed the angle of the arms so like any level kit itll wear your ball joints faster than leaving it as is but my last silverado I had it on for 2 years before I sold it with no issues due to the level. As for the 1.5" body lift by zone it will not effect your suspension at all since that is all attached to your chassis and not the body its self. I have only put about 1000km on it so far but zero issues it feels and looks so much better.. People ask if its a heavy duty all the time since I debadged it as well! I am actually selling these wheels and going with an 295/65/18 for a beefier look in a Duratrac tire with the fuel vapor wheels +1 offset .. So actually an inch more diametre and wider! Cant wait ill post pics to follow

That's great!  Looking forward to seeing additional pics, as that truck even color wise (Graphite Metallic?) looks a lot like mine, so it gives me an idea of how my truck will look when adding the level.  I'm not loving the 22" wheels either that came stock on my truck, but they came with the package, and I like everything else that came with the packages.  I'm mostly concerned about not having enough rubber with regards to any off-roading (even light duty off- roading).  Did you remove the air dam as well?

This looks fantastic!  Can you post your wheel and tire specs?  Diameter, width, offset.  If I had to guess, I'd say 20x12 wheels with -44 offset, and 305/55-20 tires?  Any rubbing/trimming?

Mine didn't change the ride. Only issue I have had at times is a creaking noise coming from parking brake cable. I've pin pointed it, but not sure how to stop noise.

I know this is now a SUPER old thread, but did you pinpoint this noise? Mine is creaking from the parking brake cable too just from my leveling kit, which is inclusive of 1" larger rear blocks. It creaks only when I brake. My preferred shop told me it was the leaf spring perch, but not sure where to go from there, as I feel like replacing the perch may just have the same problem.
