Do you know if it will work for 5.3L. I'm sure it would but curious if there is a difference.

It does work for the 5.3L. Interfaces with many GM, Ford, and Chrysler vehicles. I purchased it for the "quick fix" plug and play capabilities when my truck was brand new, but have upgraded to HP Tuners for more hands on adjustability.
