What size should I go with?

Looking to get new tires on my truck by winter. I have a z71 4x4 3500srw with the 265/70/18. But seems like the configuration is pretty costly. What other sizes would work on my truck since I'm completely stock??? Like to something with a good tread and price. As my stock rubber just isn't going to work this winter since I'm a freak and love to play in the snow (I'm a snowmobiler)

The 275/70/18 is a good size. It will fit on your 2012 with just a few cranks on the torsion bars. That size might even fit without doing anything at all. And, there's lot of options in that size and the prices are pretty good too.

Lpfm,

From what I have read and been told, you should be able to go up to the 275/70/18's without any issues depending on the tire.

Not sure of the price for your truck, but I was very happy with the Cooper A/T3's on my '10-1500! While towing a 10' clamshell had better traction on the same road as my buddy who was driving a '09 'Burb 1500 towing an inline 4 place (27' plus tongue) that had a set of BFG Long Trails ( I think they were). Both sets of tires were fairly new mileage wise and age. Was caught in a couple storms while on sled trips, and I was very impressed with the tires. Only had 11k mi on them when we stepped up to the new truck so no long term report.

They will be on the list when I upgrade my stock GY's on our new beast. May come down to who makes a slightly larger tire (20's unless I "step down" to 18's) I can fit without any mods.

Being I have a 3500, do I really need to stick with the load range e, before you answer. Here's what it's going to do this winter. And mostly every winter. Pull a 2 place sled trailer with about 1000lbs tongue weight. And either have gear or a sled in the bed. So roughly 600-700lbs in the back. Or a combined weight of 1500-1700lbs. I don't pull 5th wheels. In the summer I'll be hauling dirt. But by then. I'll have the stock load range e tires back on. Can I get away with a p series tire? They are considerably cheaper hence why I ask
