Help Spend my Money!

I got a nice vacation check for work for a little under a grand coming in the next couple weeks.

I currently have a 99 Silverado and am thinking about putting most of it towards the truck. It currently has about 173k on it.

I am thinking:

Brake fluid flush

Transmisison fluid filter

LED light bar

New leveling keys up front

Any other ideas??

Jeff

I was hoping to get leveling keys to raise my front end a couple inches and level the truck out. Seems to be a better option than just cranking the torsion bars from what I've read. I do not know much about truck suspension though to be honest.

Previous owner said plugs, wires, idler pitman, fuel system parts and all standard silverado wear items were replaced last fall.

Mechanically everything seems to be solid. No check engine lights, no major mechanical issues. Truck also has brand new tires.

Depending on the tires you decide, that may take all the $$ you have to spend. As far as leveling the truck, most threads I've seen here recommend just cranking the torsion bars. Just make sure you don't bring the front end up anymore than 2 inches or your front axle shafts and ball joints may suffer.

Wow did I ever miss that one...duh! So yeah about that light bar....there are lots of threads of what people have done. I personally just added a couple of driving lights on a home made light bar and also added a 12 volt socket upfront. Both work really well. Also regardless of what you decide on the leveling, just make sure you will need an alignment. Oh and how do you feel about side steps. It looks like yours may of had a set a one time. Does the truck have the tow package, you could add the receiver and wiring. Cold air intake. Exhaust upgrades. Just some ideas for other things to do.

Yeah the truck does have the tow package. I primarily use the truck as my daily driver and for hauling bikes in the bed. I have kinda wanted to get some wheel Chocks for strapping in my bikes.

So many things to buy, so little money to spend! Haha

Those are the brackets for side steps. That's why I thought that the truck may of had some at one point. Yes you can take them off. If they are the same as mine, just unbolt the body mount and remove the bracket and then reinstall body mount bolt.

#+!?

I snapped a body mount bolt.

Now half of it is stuck inside the Truck.

I don't suppose it's safe to drive like this
