I have a 08 1500 silverado with a 4.8 my transmission gave out and i wanna what type of transmission i have ?

You have a 4L60E. You can verify this using the VIN or the RPO codes in the glovebox. Google VIN decoder or RPO lookup. The transmission RPO will start with an "M".

It should be "M30" or "M32" for the 4L60e as Mike said.
