Yukon HIDs in Sierra?

Recommended Posts

I was at the dealership this weekend and noticed that the Yukon Denali (HID) headlights looked identical to the SLT (projector) headlights. I'm assuming the actual headlight is the same, but that the HIDs have different bulbs and electronics behind the headlights. Has anybody investigated whether the Yukon Denali HIDs can be easily ported over to the Sierra projectors? Just a thought. I'm satisfied with my current headlights, but would be interested in an HID upgrade if it was from GM.

Thanks.

That could be clean way to go. If the followed the typical euro or Japanese makers design, the ballasts would be in the housings. The power harness would likely be different to provide more power to the ballasts. So likely not plug-in. Since the regular SLT headlight is $500-600, I'd expect the HID version to be $200-300 more. But I might be all wrong.

the headlight housings do not look the same at all...

with that said, i was parked next to a 2015 today and was thinking of how awesome a complete front end swap would be, but not even close to financially worth it until you can find a 2015 Yukon that had the rear end written off so you can get the front clip cheap.

Maybe the OP was referring to the bulbs. The whole headlight def wouldn't work bc the lense blends into the fender.

Someone would def have a unique looking rig tho with the Yukon headlights. It also triggers some negative thoughts bc I can remember back when some guys would put the Escalade front end on a short wheelbase truck. Looked hideous!
