Interior rattles, groans, and buzzes

Recommended Posts

I have a 14 z71 crew 4x4. There is a groaning sound that comes from the passenger side back seat area when I pull into parking lots that have a n elevation change from the street to the lot. Almost like it's twisting the seat frame causing the noise. Took it to the stealer and they tried to tell me it was the seat backs rubbing together and it's normal. Anybody else have this problem.

Also on the driver side back seat it sounds like there is a half empty box of shotgun shells that is rattling around. They said they found loose trim piece and fixed it. NOT. The loaner I had had this same sound except 10 times worse.

Anybody got any ideas? My dealer is worthless.

You need another dealer if they think that is normal. I have had no noise in mine at all and it is the quietest vehicle I have owned. If you need to stay at that dealer then maybe grab one on the lot and drive with them in it.

I have the same problem. It is coming from inside the panel by the rear right passengers head. I removed all those panels and drove and had the same sound, it is obnoxious! It is the most noticeable when the body flexes, it almost sounds like the body mount is squeezing/groaning and the sound is traveling up through that panel. Or maybe the seat belt mechanism or can vent? I'm going to go to the dealer on Friday.

My truck had missing spot welds in body panels in the rocker panel area. Passenger side. It was built in October 2013 in Mexico. GM bought it back no questions asked after the diagnosis. GM engineering knew if robot welding problems during that time.

My truck was making an annoying noise from the backseat headrest area. This is hard to explain exactly what I found wrong...... as the back seat is folded up/down, the backrest portion has a thin metal plate that rides in a u-shaped guide, the plastic part that keeps the seat from rattling had came off, I snapped it back in place and no more noise. It's hard to see but if the seat is folded up and you look down between the headrest and the window with a flashlight it can be seen. I hope this helps.

Dropped my truck off on Thursday for a free oil change and to fox the squeak/groan. They called Saturday and said they couldn't figure it out, but the oil change was done so I could pick it up if I wanted to, I just left it there and said I wanted it fixed. We will see what happens.

My drivers door has a soft rattle next to my ear.

If I push out on the black plastic trim at the rear of the door it stops.

I have not found a cause. It is driving me nuts on long trips.

I have the same noise coming from my drivers side door . I had the dealership replace the plastic trim and tighten the door but the noise is still there . Sounds like a popping rattling noise . I think it's the window moving against the rubber trim . I know on my truck I get noises from different areas of the door ( door lock area .. Top weather stripping.) There is a TSB for wind noise . They put new bolts in the door to give the door a better fit but not sure if it would fix this promblem .

that's the noise... Im pretty sure it is the plastic trim on the door and the door seal.

If I hold my finger on the door seal it stops as well.

Mine seems to not be effected by window.

If it wasn't so cold i would play with the rubber molding and see if i can stick something under it to make it stop.

I freaking hate hate local dealer ship. Will not let touch my truck.

So I have to drive an hour away to have a dealer look at it.

Got my truck back. They took the passenger side read seat out, "re torqued" all the bolts and checked everything in that area and gave it back to me. Sound didn't change at all, it's a squeak groan that is coming from that panel between the rear window and passenger side rear window. I'll take it back in a few weeks, no 50,000 dollar vehicle should have squeaks.
