Question

Hello, I just purchased a new 2015 GMC Sierra SLT crew cab 1/2 ton and noticed on the second day I had it that it leans to the left side. When measuring from the ground through the center of the wheels to the bottom of the wheel well, it can be anywhere from a 1/2" to 7/8" difference (from left side of truck to right side of truck) depending on surface and how full gas tank is. I wouldn't have even thought about checking this measurement it but it is VISIBLY noticeable when standing behind the vehicle. I have read on other forums that this may be the result of the truck frame or body mounts being "tweaked" during shipment from Mexico, where it was assembled. Another forum said that it may be a weak spring. At any rate, what can be done to fix this? I spoke with my dealer and they said they are looking into it but have got no resolution back from GM. This is really starting to bother me when I see other new trucks when I'm out and they all appear visibly level.

Thanks, RP

It wouldn't surprise me if you are working at a dealership.

Same attitude. Leaving the customer hanging in mid air.

So you want to know how to check ride height ? I thought he was joking with the "lol"

Why are you giving me hell j-t?

This is not your problem , leave me the hell alone ,

Havin a bad day ?

I bet you think it works to go to the dealer and tell them what to do ..... It doesn't , they don't care what you think , especially the advisor who is trying to write work orders with a line up behind you .

The tech really doesn't care ,

It's under WARRANTY , !!!!!! Not his nickel dude

Relax , have a beer

This is the Ask the GM Technician section in this forum.

I assume that RP1014 is smart enough to figure out that his brand new truck is under warranty and that the dealer is the one to talk too.

Maybe his "lol" was just a joke.

Or he is just curious (like me) how this all works together and what "Z" and "D" means.

That's why he posted here in this section and not in "off topic". Even I can tell him to see his dealer since his truck is under warranty.

And maybe in 6-7-8 years from now one will have the same problem and no warranty left. And then he will remember this topic and be thankfull for govtech4 to share his knowledge.

Yes I get all that but I do not have the service info and all the specs to share of the ride height s

Z height is front , lower spindle accros to pivot point of LCA, adjusted by torsion bar if equipped , not sure for coil

D height is rear , top of diff tube to rubber jounce bumper flange
