Anyone have Rigid Fog Light install kit and Dually/D2 lights?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if I could see a couple pics and maybe get a few rviews from people that have them installed. I'm going to be getting them but kind of want to hear some opinions about the kit.

Is there a significant difference between the Dually and the D2's? Did you choose the spot or the flood/wide and why? Also, I was kind of wondering how difficult they are to wire into the factory harness.

Thank you all in advance!!!

Rich

unplug factory fogs, plug in rigid duallys.. pretty straight forward, you have to cut some plastic that holds the factory lights in place. light output is wayyy better.

The plug looks significantly different from the ones for the factory fogs...

I got the D2 driving pattern in mine. They are incredible. 5000x's better than stock. Like mentioned, you just need to cut some plastic out that holds the stock dogs and then drill 4 holes and bolt in the plates and the pods and wire them in. No wiring harness is needed as they don't draw much power so just splicing into the stock output straight to the pod is just fine.

The improvement in output alone Is worth getting the pods. And IMO, the square pods look much better in the square cut outs in the bumper. Those circular fogs that the Sierras come with just don't look good. A round peg in a square hole. It didn't work out when we were 5 trying to match the shaped pegs with the shaped holes, so why would it work on the front of a truck!

I just have a personal issue with hacking yup the factory harness. I'd rather hack up a $5 harness than the factory one and have it cost a ridiculous amout of money to replace if something goes wrong down road

Yea I wasn't worried about that. I had already cut the stock connectors off when I put in HIDs. But I also cut off the stock connecter with enough wire to easily be able to rewire it in if needed.

Does anyone have a part number for the adapter to connect to the factory fog light? Would I need a male or female H16 (ps24w) connection. This way I can make a pig tail with that connection and the deutsche plug and avoid cutting up the factory harness. Plug and play so to speak.

Thanks

Rick

60 bucks and you don't have to hack anything. Rigid makes a great mount for these lights.

I just ordered the stuff to do a custom fog light setup and thought through the whole harness thing. Here is what I ordered for a clean install with no hacking.

I wasn't sure if they'd throw an error code (I'm going to run 2 cubes per side, so 4 total) so I went ahead and ordered a cancellor just in case

This harness. One plug would go directly into factory fog light and the other end into the cancellor

And I already had a female HID connectors from an old HID kit so I'll just hard wire that to the lights and it will all be plug and play
