And...the dream is gone...

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I want to thank each and every one of you for all of your help. My dream of owning a 2015 Sierra HD Denali has been crushed, as has the front of my trade for someone who chose NOT to stop for a stop sign. Of course the insurance company won't write the truck off, especially because I got the "Replace with NEW within 3yrs".

Initial estimates are $12,000 to $15,000 damage.

Maybe a 2017 :sigh:

Jeff.

Sucks to hear. Hopefully nobody was hurt. Just because your not getting one now, doesn't mean you you can't hang out and be part of the forum.

Thank Andy. I'm drooling over your truck! I'm going to wait 12 months and then just suck up the rest. Perhaps by then they will make the High Country with a black interior. Love the brown, Wife...not so much :(

P.s. I was on my way to sign the deal for the new truck :( Son of a ...... Mother less goat!

Sorry to hear that about the truck look at it this way they might make an improvement or add the 6.2 engine if your going gas or if diesel maybe they will move that def tank some place better and put the fill next to the fuel fill.

Things happen for a reason but i know how you feel these new trucks are so much more refined than the older chevys I have had

Cat320,

Yup, exactly what i am hoping for! It looks as thought the new Diesel will be in the 2016's!!

"To date, no official reports regarding the engine preference for the new GMC Sierra 2500. However, according to the rumored reports, the new truck will get a turbocharged 6.6-liter V8 diesel powertrain capable of outputting 450 horses and 855 pound-feet of torque"

SO that makes me happy. The ONLY other thing I want is rear heated seats. Anyone know if you can do that? I hope they add them!

Go after the insurance company for diminished value

Ryan

Ryan,

Tried that. Every tried to nail jello to the wall? The claimed it was cheaper to fix the truck. Of course it was. Now I'm stuck with a truck that has severe electrical and engine issues....of the fun!

It sucks. the ecoboost was so much fun. Oh well...onward and upward. Hello 2016 GMC Sierra 3500 DENALI teeheehee

I may be the odd ball on this but the DEF tank and fill point is a non-issue!! Yes I have distroyed a DEF tank in its current location (don't know how or why but I did) but for $325.00 I put a real skid plate on it and now don't even think about it. As far as filling the DEF underhood it is kinda a pain but if you use bulk at a truck stop with a pump fill and forget. I have seen one Dodge and one Ford that the lot boy did not know the difference and put fuel into the DEF tank when it is located next to the fuel tank fill so I guess you gotta take your chances where you can. :jester:

Diminished value is not totaling the truck or cost to fix it. The insurance figures how much you will loose money widening trading in/selling and cuts you a check based On this. If you do t ask or fight for it they don't offer it up

I've tried just about everything Ryan. I think the rules are different in Canada than in the United States. I will happily try again!
