Converting '15 2500 to CNG, is the 6.0 hardened?

Recommended Posts

Have been looking at a 2015 factory CNG conversion truck, from what ive read, Chevrolet hardens the valves to allow them to better withstand the heat form burning CNG. And these hardened motors are then sent to Impco to be converted.

The factory CNG conversion has its positives, but the 17 GGE class 3 tank is heavy and at 17 GGE your range towing wont be far.

So was thinking of buying a 2015 and having the conversion done aftermarket. For the same money, I can get the same system and a class 4 tank that is light with a 24.5 GGE tank. The extra CNG would be nice between fueling stations.

My question is, do the 6.0 motors in the 15's have all the hardened valve parts?

My local mower dealer had the LP conversion done and zero issues.

Also a large lawn company had their fleet done with no problems as well.

I believe there is a $2000 tax rebate if you do this before the end of the year.
