High Country worth it?

Recommended Posts

For those of you that have gotten the high country, is it worth the extra cost? I'm not talking about the 6.2 as it is an option across the board but are the high country specifics worth it over an LTZ or SLT? Planning on either getting an SLT or LTZ soon but have found some good deals on high country's and want to know your review of it?

Guess it really depends on what you want. Of you want to pay for the extra stuff then you will. The fact that you posted this seems to me like your trying to convince yourself you want the extra stuff

It's all up to you. When i got my truck I could've waited longer and payed even more for a Denali and at times I thought damn I should've got one. Looking back at it though, my trucks loaded and the only thing a Denali had over mine (at that time) was the bumpers, grille, and cluster. I could do all that on my own for cheaper. If you don't like messing with your vehicle or just want the full package just go for the high country. If you can deal without the bumpers and brown interior (not sure if you can get that on LTZ's) then get an LTZ and load it out!

Brown leather is personal pref but it does not sound like it's of much (or any) better quality than the reg. Some people like the look of the painted bumpers but a lot of people complain about them chipping. Other than the unique grill I think every other option the HC has you can get on an LTZ. So really it's just a look thing. I also don't believe you can get Z71 on a high country if that interests you (rancho, hill desc, etc. HC has z60 shocks) HC has it's own rims also, but again a look thing, you can get more choices with other packages I bet. I'd be more concerned with getting 3.42s, etc.

I got a loaded up 6.2L LTZ and put a High a Country grille on it. Didn't like the brown interior or painted bumpers.

Sorry must have missed it. Looks real good with the High Country grille. I've been considering it myself. I noticed you were in broken arrow as well. Mind if I ask what dealer you went to? I went to Jim Glover. Horrible experience after the sale.

My ex nephew-in-law is one of the owners of Keystone In Sand Springs. I've bought my last 4 trucks there. No problems with the service after the sale ever.

As others have said, it depends on what you want. To me it seems like the only difference the High Country has over the LTZ is the color of leather and the color match bumpers (which people on here have complained about the paint chipping on the painted bumpers). Personally for me I'm very happy with my LT and I don't need or want leather seats, park assist and so on. I like everything my truck came with (kind of wish it had Bose, but the factory speakers sound great so not really going to complain). I'm just not into luxury in a truck since it is a truck, but it depends on what you like and want.
