Plows on a 1500

Recommended Posts

My dad's mechanic says that it's not a good idea to put a plow on a light duty truck because it's really hard on the vehicle, I dunno if I agree or not. I might get a Myers home plow on my truck someday.

I know its not good for the tuck. But they make plows for half tons. So it must be okay to some extent. The truck I'm looking at already has plow mounts that whys I'm thinking about it

My old neighbor used to plow his driveway all the time with a two door 90s era Yukon.

Didn't seem to have an issue but he didn't do it commercially either. Had a rather large driveway though has average lot size for that neighborhood was 5 acres.

Pretty sure he still uses it after about 8 years.

Fisher and Western have 1/2 ton specific plows (Fisher HT and Western HTS). There is also Snoway. If you want the best ground clearance off season, go for the Western or Fisher.
