want to clear 285-70-18 tires

Recommended Posts

Currently have a 2013 silverado with the 2" RC leveling kit and running 275-70-18. Tires are shot and looking to go with 285-70-18 tires what are my options suspension wise to be able to clear them.

Well, since you already have the 2" leveling kit, the next step would be a 4" lift kit...which is a pretty expensive step to just bump up 1" in tire height. I'd look into the 1.25"-1.5" body lift option. Our trucks hide those really well. Or, just keep it like it is now, and trim as needed. I've seen 285/70/18's on the stock rims with a 2" or 2.5" level, so your rims are the only thing holding you back. It shouldn't take too much trimming to make them fit.

I have LT285-70-17 tires on my 2008 with a 2" level with no issues. You should be fine.

Yes, but he's looking into a 285/70/18...which is 1" taller than your tires. Plus, he has aftermarket rims, which make it even more difficult to fit larger tires.

I would add a block to the rear and a 1/2" spacer between the strut and lower control arm. I've done lift/ level kits with 2.8" in front and 1" in rear. Might still need to trim some plastic though.
