What do you like about your Silverado/Sierra?

Recommended Posts

I see alot of posts in here with people complaining about everything under the sun, some people just want something to complain about and some of it may be justified so I wanted to start this thread to see what you LIKE about your new Silverado or Sierra.

Ive also posted a pic of my truck (manufacture pic).

Here is my list:

1. Its a Rally Edition

2. 22 inch rims

3. 5.3 V8

4. Interior quality and roominess

5. Overal build quality, I have no vibrations, clunks, clanks, squeaks or rattles. My Silverado is tight as a drum.

I love everything about, especially since I came from a 98 Silverado lol. There was/is only a handful of things I didn't like, but they can easily be fixed or changed so no biggy.

I love that they brought back the boxy look because my first truck/vehicle of my own was an 86 Chevy Custom Deluxe. Also the trim around the headlights that make it look part of the grille is something that reminds me of my 98 where it had the grille shell around the headlights.

I like that they did away with the ext cabs and just turned it into a shorter version of a crew cab so it has 4 real doors, which I did get because I didn't want to pay that much more for a Crew cab.

Also I have been wanting a black truck so I'm lucky I was about to get a black one.

The interior seems a lot better quality than past years. I like that it comes with an actual 110 volt outlet. I just have an LT, but it's exactly how I would want. I don't like leather seats and I like the floor where the trans hump is to be open instead of a big console. I like that the console folds up for a 3rd seat where my 98 had the full center console so no middle front seat. I like how you can connect your phone to it and it even shows your contacts and everything. Would be a good touch to be able to read text on the screen but no big deal. I do like all of the info that the screen in the gauge cluster shows.

The ride is awesome, like a cadi and it doesn't even have magnetic ride control like can be on the new '15s.

With me it is a lot of things that have been on previous trucks, just that I came from a 16 year old truck so pretty much everything on the truck is new to me.

I forgot to mention the XM radio and then all of the different plugs in the center console with the USB ports, aux cable port and SD card port. I listen to XM but I have my SD card and my old MP3 player for backup lol. I also like the 12 volt plug in the console so all of those cords are hidden. I doubt I'll ever use the 12 volt under the dash.

Yea I love XM Radio because of the Nascar Network, thats where my radio stays dialed in to. I also like the backup camera!

Ya I love the backup camera too, but I try not to depend on just that, but it helps a lot when backing up to things. I have the NASCAR channel favorited on there but don't listen to it because I need to see the race with my eyes lol and I usually keep up with everything in other ways.

Another thing I love is the corner steps in the rear bumpers. Just an ingenious idea and the person that came up with it should get a small commission on each truck with that bumper sold lol. It helps the best with the tailgate down, but I still use them with it up just to get in the bed. I rarely use the big middle step lol.

Gotta go with

  1. spray in bed-liner
  2. under-rail bed lighting
  3. rear bumper step
  4. EZ-Lower Tail-gate

Yea mine has that spray in bed liner, ive never put anything in the bed but I will find something for sure. Been thinking of buying another motocross bike since they are opening a 1000 acre off road park about 30 miles north of me in Punta Gorda so a new Yamaha YZ450F would be the perfect thing to haul in my truck.

Gas mileage, I've always wanted a full size truck but never could justify it with my commute. Decided to test drive the new ones just to do it and immediately fell in love with the interior layout and exterior styling. IMHO chevrolet hit this nail on the head. It was a bit more expensive then I'd like for a truck but the neat little features like hill assist and the back up camera pointed at your hitch really offsets the cost for me. Now I'm getting 19/20 mpgs on gas and 17/18 on e85 and my old trailblazer was lucky to get 16. Plus with the crew cab I can fold the seats up and have enough room for my GSD to have his own space and take a nap. I have 1900 miles and cannot wait for all the memories the next 200,000 will bring me
