Back seats are for cars...just saying.

Not only am I new to this site, it is my first "forum" all together unless you count Facebook. And FB is a site I've slowly been migrating away from for no one particular reason or another. I am looking forward to this atmosphere of people sharing a more focused interest.

I just took delivery of my 2015 Regular Cab HD 2500, and despite the growing list of disappointments I really do love my new truck. Long story longer, I set out 3 months ago to buy one off the lot, and unless your looking for a plain WT forget it. In the recent weeks I noticed how the iconic (in my mind anyway) regular cab American pick-up is slipping from our everyday culture. The most ironic part of it is how everything from the cars we drive today, hot rod clubs dedicated to specific years/makes/models, to forums like this one can all trace their DNA back a crowded bench seat in a rusty old pick-up.

now, what do you irregular cab guys think of that?

Welcome aboard. Have to agree the backbone was the regular cabs, but times have changed. We have gone from " trucks were meant for work on the farm, etc" to trucks are now " grocery getters, sunday rides, etc" more family time. Just my opinion. I had two reg cabs and now drive a crew cab. Love them all lol

Welcome! Great post, I agree buddy. Makes me think back to my papa's ford F100, that was the first truck I ever drove, it had the long bench seat with a 3 speed column shift! :)

But now, there's no way I could get a long with a regular cab, wife 2 kids, thier 2 friends (or more) and the spouse.

I love my old '76 regular cab, long bed Chevy, but it won't pull the trailer and haul the family, including the dogs, to the campground so the '06 has to do double duty. I could get away with an extended cab, but I didn't like the lack of leg room on the extended cab. So if you can get the job done with a regular cab, great. Me I have to have a few more seat belts.

Welcome aboard, I like regular cab trucks but, its just too convenient to have a double cab, especially with two 70# golden retrievers and the potential to have a kid on the horizon a regular cab wouldn't be a good DD for me. I do love how a regular cab short bed truck looks.
