How difficult is it to replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator on 99 5.7L?

Recommended Posts

The Factory Service Manual says to remove the "upper manifold assembly". I *think* that means the intake manifold is in two parts. Roughly how long should I expect it to take to remove the upper manifold? I believe the FPR is inside the manifold... right? And, while I'm at it, should I replace the spider injectors?

If its anything like on the later 4.8/5.3 vortecs the frp will be right behind the intake manifold and nothing needs to be removed. We replaced the fpr on my dads 4.8 in an hour or less, the only PITA is that you can't see anything and need to rely on your hand magically finding the location. Good luck!
