LFH, Liquid Fuel Heater

Recommended Posts

My Duramax supplemental manual states that it may be equipped with a Liquid Fuel Heater. A portion of the coolant is piped back to it and it heats it up, using diesel from the tank, to expedite the heater core temperature, heating the cab sooner in cold conditions. Does anyone know if it standard? Where would it be located (states against the frame)? When I ordered my truck it was not on the options list.

GM trucks do not come with any kind of heater, the Ford Super Duty is the only truck that can be ordered with a factory installed diesel powered cabin/engine heater. What you are looking for is made by this company.

If parked at home I would suggest simply plugging in the factory block heater and leaving the defrost on so the vent door is open.

The problem comes when you are away from a electric cord and want the truck warm. I fully understand and would want the same thing in a cold environment.
