rdnckhntr94's 2014 Silverado High Country Build

Well, figured what better time to start a build thread than on a new truck since I never did do one on my 02. Anyways, bought the truck November 29, 2014 and as of right now, a few days later, its still stock go figure lol

Here is what I plan on doing in the future, some sooner than later:

  • Weathertech mats front and rear
  • K&N or some other CAI- open for other recommendations
  • 6000K HID's for lows, highs, and fogs
  • 2 inch level kit; if I go with a taller rear block, I will also do a u bolt flip kit, much cleaner looking
  • Slightly bigger tires when new tires are needed
  • Possibly either the chrome or matte gray Sierra All Terrain 20" wheels or possible aftermarkets if I cant find em for a good price on craigslist
  • Remove air dam on front bumper so I can clear curbs lol
  • RANGE AFM disabler
  • Possibly a Blackbear tune
  • Possibly a MAG-HYTEC diff cover
  • Auxiliary transmission cooler- I don't see one in front of the radiator, but gonna check again
and to top it all off, possibly some 3.73 gears for some more umph off the line, but im sure that is years down the road, along with the blackbear tune

EDIT: Didn't realize I didn't include exhaust plans. I either want to just keep the stock piping and get a new muffler, or get a dual out muffler and have the exhaust shop install a pipe that mirrors the passenger side. I like where they have it coming out, right before the bumper. I would also purchase another bowtie exhaust tip cause I like how they look and the size of it compared to the Flowmaster ones on my other truck

Some pics of it stock and fresh off the lot

The trans cooler is part of the condenser core, go with a volant intake or the airaid tube, and look into reps for the Sierra wheels. But chrome would look good

Should I go with the dry or oiled filter? And I was also thinking chrome would look good but the gray ones I think would go with the brown interior of the high country.

I may also remove the door moldings and rear bowtie. That rear bowtie is awkwardly large for the design of the tailgate

Nice truck man with some solid plans. I'd do a complete debadge, and rock some all terrain 22s with some Toyo MTs. That would be sexy.

I don't think they make them in 22's I believe only 20's. But you got me wanting those toyo m/t's again now lol. I may debadge the tailgate and the door moldings, but I like the high country emblems on the doors. May take the one off the tailgate

Definitely do AirAid tube. I have the tube and the AFE ProDry, nice to not have to worry about buying a filter again. Can vacuum and/or wash, let it dry and throw it back in.

If I were you trashing the spoiler would be #1. Or sell it to someone who broke theirs on a curb and actually wants a new one lol.

I would do a vinyl wrap on the whole front end, over the paint for protection and over the chrome to see how it looks...

I wouldn't level though, IMO fuel mileage is all or nothing, may as well lift it 7" haha.

I like the mostly stock look so what you have planned sounds good to me... Once your AFM is gone I'd get a new muffler

Still need to do the U-bolt flip on mine, saving it for "the great rear end rehash".

I'll start out with removing the air dam. That may be done as soon as today haha. If it still just doesn't seem right I'll get a level kit

Very nice! The High Country is one of my favorite packages. Once you level it will sit just right. You could probably find a good level on sale right now with it being close to the holidays. I recommend the TGC 2.5" level, I think I grabbed one for $70.
