1994 GMC 2500 Running issues?

Recommended Posts

OK, Here's a question: I have a 1994 GMC Sierra 2500 5.7L. Had the water pump go out and after replacing it, both upper and lower radiator hoses and transmission cooler lines it doesn't want to start and run all the time. Thought it might need a tune up so put new spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter and PCV and that didn't help. Started fine this moring and drove it to work. Shut it off and immediately tried to start it again and no luck. If I hold the pedal to the floor it will start but if let I let off the gas to lower the RPM's it dies. Tried it after letting it sit for a fewer hours and it just turns over and won't start without holding the pedal to the floor and dies as soon as you let up?

Ideas? Suggestions?

The first thing I would check is make sure you didn't knock off any vacuum lines in the process of repairing, have somebody keep it running and listen around the motor for a sucking sound or spray some carb cleaner around different areas while it's running and if it revs up evens more that's your area.
