Interiror dome / mirror light

2014 2500 hd my interior dome lights operate normal with door(s) open, at night or when parking lights / headlights are on if you press the individual dome light buttons the light comes on but is very dim (all 4 act the same). if you turn the control knob for the interior lights all the way to right the lights come on full. If you open the mirror cover on the visor(s) the 2 mirror lights do not come on and the lights on the steering wheel controls, the brake controller, and the panel with the traction control switches go out.. not sure what to check or what to do other than the trip to dealer
