First, sorry if this has been discussed, but a quick search didn't provide me any results.

So the TV ads are running rampant with year-end sales and so on... I noticed something that I can't believe I've missed it until now. The view is of a 1500 Denali, 3/4 view where the front and driver's side is viewable, under a bunch of light bulbs. The grille surround, front bumper insert, mirror caps and door handles are color matched! Anyone else notice that?

**Not the greatest quality, but here is a screen cap I found on the intarwebz:

2014-gmc-sierra-1500-crew-cab-gmc-summer

Why isn't that an option when building the vehicle? That is exactly what I'd do to a Denali if I end up getting one.

Chevrolet did the same thing on their truck building website. When I was trying to make up my mind on what I wanted I'd configure a new truck every week or so. I noticed that the pictures of my LTZ build would change from week to week. Sometimes they'd show color-matched mirrors and door handles the next time chrome, then the next time color-matched. I guess they couldn't make up their minds. It ended up coming with chrome so I had to get some off eBay and had the dealer install them. Looks to me like it would have been easier just to list color-matched as an option!!!!

I think it's kind of funny. If the door handles come color matched, we want them chrome. If they come chrome, we want them color matched.

I can understand that. However, as a strong disliker of chrome, why can't I have an option of a chrome-delete package on the Denali? The color-matched items are already in the parts bin...

Just have your dealer get you painted handles and caps, thats what I did, I even had them get black window sill strips from a work truck just because I didn't like the chrome ones...

That was my plan, but when I saw the commercial, I thought to myself "why should I have to go out and spend all this extra money on top of a $50k+ truck when they could give me a check box at ordering time?". Along with what you mentioned, there is also the added expense of a grille to get the surround matched.

completely understand, it is pretty ridiculous, they think the majority consumer wants all their crap chrome, maybe so, but for my taste, color match makes the trucks looks SO much cleaner, good luck!

GM also shows all the trucks/SUVs with leveling kits and such, guessing they can show them anyway they want but we can't get them that way.

The Danali looks great in the picture, guessing they don't want it to look like the all-terrian so its full chrome.
