What did you drive in High School?

1978 Buick Regal out of a junkyard in Georgia. It was baby #$$^% brown and had huge white walls. 3.8 V6 with about 150,000 miles and maybe 80 hp. Took autoshop that year and worked on it a bit at a time. Bought some 15" Keystone Klassics and threw those on there. Drove it three years until I sold it to a buddy ( I tried to give it to him, but he made me take $500) and bought my brothers 1979 Cutlass Supreme with a 305 4BBL..

Like Chris, had multiple, first was 85 GMC Sierra Classic with the electric upgrades all up in it to include vaccum op cruise control! Was a long bed with the 305. Slow as mollases but sounded nice. That got wrecked so then I got a 94 Nissan Pathfinder. Tranny blew up lol, sold and finally got a 95 nissan sentra 5 speed. Fun little oil burner to drive and got good gas mileage so I kept it till I joined the military.

This is not a picture of my ride but it is what I had. I carried morning news papers, worked in grocery stores, soda jerked, helped a route salesman deliver bread, just about anyway to make money during the 50's. This is a 1951 Nash. Kind of dates me I know . It beat walking. post-138568-0-43066300-1421433798.jpgpost-138568-0-15612900-1421433854.jpg

Mine was a black 1987 Chevy Silverado 4x4. It was completely stock when I bought it from it's original owner. Had the TBI 350, 700-R4 trans, and 208 case. Added a 6" suspension lift and new 'heavy half' rear springs, along with some 35x12.50x15's squeezed on the stock rally rims. It sounded awesome, with the 2.25" true duals and 18" glass packs. I had to sell it and buy a car when I went to college, because the 10 mpg was eating me alive. I miss that truck every day...

Got a midnight blue 86 Chevy Custom Deluxe 2wd regular cab long bed with a 305 and "granny" manual transmission. The radio and speakers were taken out and having no money for a real system I just used a cheap boom box lol. It also didn't have factory A/C which didn't bother me since I drive with the windows down anyways, but it did suck on hot days when it rained. Also can't forget that all of the tires including the spare were all different brands so that messed with my OCD. I didn't have the money at first for new tires but once I did get enough I got a new set. I got it the summer before my SR year. Had it for a little over a year and a half. If it would have been a 4x4 I would probably still have it as a 2nd/play truck.

Here is a pic of me on my s10 shortly after I got it at 16. I did buy it myself for $2300. Hell this is where I live now to, before I lived here. Oh the foreshadowing.

Drove in high school? How about a 3 speed CCM bicycle. This would be back in the '50s. My first car however, was a '51 Pontiac with a flat-head 6 cylinder engine. Cost me $200.

Drive in High School? Nothing. No car. Mommy and Daddy didn't buy me one. I bought my own.

My 1st car? 1971 VW fastback. Bought it when I was 17, right out of high school in 1978. I was making a little over $2.00 an hour then.

I bought my own too. You make it sound like everybody that has a car or truck in high school they're parents bought for them. That's just what it sounds like you're saying with that first line. All I did was save up money until I needed my own truck.
