So I have been doing a lot of looking and you tube vids. I want to paint one of my ARs mostly for fun. Needless to say my sons toys are my practice grounds.

I think I now have it to a science on what I prefer. So tomorrow I'm gonna take the plunge

Looks good, how is the texture of the paint?

It's great sort of like the texture of the mag pul furniture. Smooth but still has grip. I used the rustolium Camo ullta flat paint it hard to tell in pics but. There is no gloss.

Being a bowhunter, I'm onboard with the function of camo on a weapon. But I'm just not thrilled with the look, especially on a gun. I frequent a predator/coyote forum and a lot of the hunters do the camo on their ARs. I understand it. But I like the clean look of a traditional gun. I'm over the hill old school about guns, I guess.

One of my favorite guns to hunt with.

I started out with the rattle can jobs, but then quickly got into duracoat and cerakote. What a world of difference it makes for the durability, but damn is it pricey.

These are both all custom jobs with C series Cerakote Coating done by a guy in Arkansas and the rifles were built by Moon at Crescent customs
