Passing off my 2000 Sierra to my little brother and bringing home dad's old 2004 to begin fixing up into a nice DD.

5.3/4L60E

3.42 gear ratio

330k miles (yep same mileage as the truck I'm replacing)

Truck is bone stock. Dad never was one to spend "unnecessary money" on a vehicle.

Here's some quick pics my brother sent today since the truck is 100 miles away atm

Plans are as follows:

*Replace the worn out suspension

*Clear headlights

*CAI

*Exhaust

*Debadge and remove door molding

*Full tune up

*Possible altitude adjustment for when I'm going hunting and fishing since this truck is so low

*Replace rear axle with a salvaged one with lower gears and G80

*etc etc etc...

Haven't had a chance to look since I'm picking up the truck Sunday. Is it possible to add a transmission temp sensor to this truck? I'm taking the gauge cluster apart to replace the stepper motors and would like to add it while I'm in there

If it is, you need the overlay. Just get a new cluster. The sensor is there. The cluster is all thats different

Do you know of a decent place to get it from? Trying to fix this truck up on a budget

I got mine from pickupsalvage.com. they also have them on summit or jegs

Well wife said a new cluster was out of the question so I ordered the repair kit for the cluster I have.

Haha man we're freshly married and trying to start a family on a fireman salary so it was a joint decision. Now I do wanna know when your suspension is up for sale
