2015 3500 HD tire psi monitor

Recommended Posts

If it is equipped with TPMS then yes it will be in the DIC on the dash. TPMS is only available on one GVWR for 3500hd trucks, the 10,000GVWR. Anything bigger its not available.

So, on regular cab 4x4 gas, extended cab long box 4x4 gas engine, crew cab standard box 2x4 and 4x4 gas engine, and crew cab long box 2x4 gas engine. Those are all 10,000 GVWR 3500hd trucks. So, any of those listed, if equipped with TPMS, will have the info in the instrument cluster screen. Any dually or anyy truck with a bigger GVWR over 10,000lbs there will be no TPMS in the truck at all.

Lots of commercial trucks and RV's have this system on them. It works for everything down to passenger cars, so it can easily be used on a 3500 on up. Sensors fit right on tire valve stem, so no need to break down tire. Program each one into the monitor and go.

I was shocked when I bought mine and saw the illuminated symbol on the DIC crossed out . I told the dealer I would pay whatever was required to put this option on and was told it was not possible.

And then there are some of us who would sell our best dog to get rid of the TPMS on these pickups. I have not been a fan of any of it. Over 4 million miles of commercial truck driving from Alaska to the Rio Grande, and I think I know how to check my tires and what pressures are appropriate for the load/tire combination. I hate being nannied like a dweeb who can't figure his way out of a 55 gallon drum.

Thanks for your replies,

From what therink replied the tire monitor is not available for the 3500 4wd single wheel.

Thank you Therink for answering my Question!

I personally like this feature on my current truck get to monitor the tires hot and cold going down the road.

I really like to keep tires proper psi at all times.

Well, if one is bound to have one, the one I recommended is pretty good. And not only can you have it read the pressures on you pickup, but it can also read pressures on a trailer at the same time. Just add more sensors. some of the units they sell will monitor up to 32 sensors. You might need to get their repeater unit to enhance the signal depending on the distance from the monitor and the sensors. A serious step above the stock OEM TPMS junk. And no need to break a tire down to put one on. Just screws onto the valve stem. You set the parameters on pressure you want in the monitor device and it does the work. You can change the parameters any time you want. Again, not like the stupid OEM junk. And when you rotate tires, no need to reprogram anything. Just remove sensors from the tires, keeping them in the same position location and put them back on the tires after rotating. With a setup like this, why would anyone want the OEM junk?

I know this is a zombie thread, but I wanted to chime in on your last question.

For me, I hate having to have any of these auxiliary boxes on the dash... GPS (GM Nav is clunky at best), programmer if desired, radar detector if desired, dash camera (for today's litigious society), and now a big TPMS screen. To power these various accessories while keeping things clean is pretty difficult.

I think that is the attraction to the OEM setup. I'd really prefer to not have ANY boxes on my dash... I like it to look clean, luxurious... not like a 16 year old's computer station. It's too bad we can't just add our own sensors and have it work through the DIC, but I understand this takes more engineering. It just seems strange they don't even offer it as an option on SRW 3500s, while I understand it isn't required by law.
