2000 GMC Sierra

Sunday my Cherokee finally gave its last. In what has to be the quickest car hunt I've ever done I found this on Craigslist. 2000 Sierra 4.8 5 speed 4x4. Little bit of rust and a couple other issues, but for what I paid I'm very happy .

Here's the pictures from the night I went to pick it up.

So far I've put a bottle of Restore in, filled the tank and driven it around some. As a guy that can't bring himself to not shift the gears it's good to find a full size that has a stick and it's a v8 and 4wd. As I get into it and the weather warms up I'm starting to think of projects. Mainly thinking it needs a leveling kit, address the rust with some paint and maybe stock style flares to cover it up, and the emergency brake doesn't function so I'll need to get into that. I already have a rear bumper and hitch because they are very rusted at this point.

Then there's the issue of only having a radio, might need to do something about that at some point.

Also the jump seat top doesn't open, anyone have trick to get it to unlatch?

What are your go to upgrades for someone just getting into their Sierra?

Welcome! Is the "button" missing on your jumpseat top? Mine broke a long time ago. There's a metal piece that sticks out, similar to the hood latch. If it's there, you can still open it. Place your right hand on the armrest with your fingers hanging over. You should be able to put your middle finger on the top of the latch, and push down towards the ground.

If it's not there, I typed all of that for no reason....
