2015 Silverado High Country or Sierra Denali

Recommended Posts

Hi all.. Been a browser of this site for a long time, this is my first account / post!

I'm sure this topic has been killed to death, but this is a big purchase for me and looking for any and all opinions!

I'm currently in a 2011 Silverado LTZ Crew.. Going to be upgrading to either the 2015 high country or Denali.

As it stands now, it seems like it comes down to this: The HC has keyless entry and push button start, the Denali has nicer interior (black truck, black leather vs. black truck, HC "tan-ish".

I prefer black leather, but there's something about having the keyless interaction that seems cool... My wife swears by it and would never have another car without it. (i've never really experienced it).

I know that the Denali will probably have better resale value, but i'm not too concerned with it... I think both trucks look good on the outside, with a slight edge to the Denali on interior (black leather, better driver info center, a bit cleaner lines)

Any advice? I love my current silverado, no complains at all.

All LT and up Silverado's have keyless entry. The HC doesn't have push button start, only the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon/Escalade get that. Unless you're talking about remote start? The Denali would have that too.

Resale is around the same on both. They're both luxury trucks and are going to hold their value decently.

Great catch on the push button start.. I didn't realize this at all.. Kind of pointless.. Taking my keys out anyway! My hands aren't ever that full to where I need to get into my car remoteless, only to have to reach in my pocket and start the car... Thanks!

Anyone else?

I love the look of the Denali and hate the High Country's tan leather interior. The only drawback to the GMC is the headlights aren't as efficient as the Chevy's. Personally I don't like the red dash lights in the GMC and really like the Chevy's blue. Everyone's tastes are different. I still sometimes think I should have gotten a black on black Denali, but then I get into my black LTZ and realize it's a darn nice truck. We're lucky to have so many choices these days.

I have a 2014 Black on Black GMC Denali, it is nice. I say buy which ever one makes you happy. I beat myself up deciding too back when I ordered it. So I understand. Best of luck in what ever you decide!

I gotta say I'm a huge fan of both and I actually like the HC interior, its different, I think its a great look for the Chevy, denali gets the mag ride, I have no idea the difference haven't been in one, but guys on here r swearing bye it, if it matters consider the SLT All Terrain to help complicate things, I'd go with the A/T or HC for the simple reason there's less on the road ;o)~

+1 on considering the SLT A/T. EXTREMELY close to a Denali (properly equipped), with a better look IMHO, and a lot less coin. Plus, nobody ever asks what a Denali is. They DO ask what my A/T is!

I was in the same situation as you. I picked the Denali because of the magnetic ride suspension. Hands down it cannot be beat. Unbelievable ride and stability.

And unbelievable coin when the truck ages and it needs servicing. Another strike against the Denali in my book.

I wonder if it breaks later down the road if you could just pull a fuze and add regular shocks? This is done with some older air ride vehicles already.

Either way, they are all nice trucks with their own style and you will be pleased with either.
