Gibson Super Truck Exhaust Mounting Issues

Recommended Posts

Anybody mount up a Gibson Super Truck Exhaust?

2014 Silverado Crew cab, standard box, LTZ Z71, 5.3 L

stainless Gibson pt#65660

Side exit in front of the rear tire

I installed it this past weekend with a lot of difficulty.
The system came with an extra straight mid pipe and clamp with no mention of it in the instructions.
I assumed it was because the crew cab, regular bed is longer than the other body styles (Even though the instructions specifically said crew cab regular bed)
I figured that it must go as a mid pipe before the muffler.
I went to install all 3 pieces which made the length way to long into the axel/wheel. And without the extra mid pipe is was way to short and wouldn't line up with the hangers or exit properly.
So I had to cut down that extra mid pipe to make it fit properly. This was not mentioned or described anywhere in the instructions or on the website. Was a major pain in the a**
I am disappointed on how this install went and unfortunately can not recommend it to the average installer such as myself.
I still have to tweak the length of the midpipe to make the tips sit in the proper location.
Also there is a loud droning sound when my truck is cruising in v4 mode. (as others have mentioned)
Anybody else have these issues?
