I do not understand what you are actually talking about. Is this water running into the vehicle or is it just holding water around the base and that water trickles out and is leaving water spot stains on what it likely a black vehicle. If water is getting into the cab, take it in for warranty work. If this is just the inconvenience of having to remove the water spots the next day due to the water being released after the truck has been dried, your best bet would be to find out how to lift the antenae up from the roofline and run a bead of whatever colour RTV silicone blends in best with colour of truck. You will want to put antena back into place and tighten it up. Wipe up any residual silicone that gets squeezed out. Do it while wet, unless you are good with a razer blade. Once it is cured, someone that is good with a razer can cut the excess sealant without cutting the paint.

My question is will this cause a leak that does come in around the drivers sun shade or down the "A" piller. I only have 3000 miles on it. Do I need to take it to a dealership and have them look at it.

Are you getting water inside the truck on the drivers side floor, or are you seeing any water in the interior?

Main reason for taking it back to dealer is to make sure there is a record of it happening, and a record of them fixing it. If for some reason it starts to do it again within the next couple of years, or if you start getting rust through, and it was caused by the leaking antenna that GM has documented you complained about it when truck was new it will go a long way in getting it handled.

No one on an internet forum can possibly answer your question directly. It would need to be actually looked at to diagnose. In its simplest form, any hole in a panel that is sealed to outside elements can have a gasket or seal fail and allow water into the interior. Were it me, the truck would go back to dealer to have them look at it for me. In my case, I have either bought or caused the sale of 12 new vehicles since 99, and all from the same salesman. Needless to say I get treated very well, and rarely have any problem getting them to look at something that may not be an issue at all.
