6.2 Cold Air Intake

Recommended Posts

I have the Airaid with the dry filter on mine. There is no noticeable sound increase and it looks great.

There is some great info in this sticky

Thanks! I searched for a thread, but I guess didn't use the correct key words...

No problem. The search function doesn't give the best results but members here are good about pointing people in the right direction. Good luck on your CAI choice.

Anyone running a CAI on their 6.2? Any suggestions on a brand? Looking for one, and can't decide...

I went with the K&N CAI and regular running it has no sound difference. You jump on it and it sounds mean almost like an exhaust.

Does the Airaid tube (MIT) have connections for the two valve cover breather tubes? I looked on their website but the pictures leave a lot to be desired.

Yes it does. 2 screw in 1/2" NPT to barb end nipples. One is rear facing and one is on the bottom which uses a

right angle nipple to face to the drivers side to pick up the driver side valve cover breather. They also include 2

right angle adapters which are barbed on one end and have the factory slip on retainer clip on the other end to

attach to the valve cover pipes. Of course tubing is supplied to connect all the barb ends together.

I just received my MIT and Elite catch can setup yesterday. The Elite clean side separator only uses one of the

2 nipples on the MIT (or factory air box) and connects to the CCS which replaces the oil fill cap. The second

nipple on the MIT is capped off. The 2 valve cover breathers are then connected together with a piece of tubing.

This allows the left and right valve covers to both vent through the oil cap CCS to the AirRaid MIT.

Watch your k&n's and any other filters for passing fine dust. Most oiled air filters do and my impact warranty. Seeing as most people here are concerned about oil in the intake, I'd bring this up too. I've seen some nasty intake tubes with even properly oiled air filters. The worst being dusted turbos in duramaxes
