2014 silverado 1500 dies while driving

Recommended Posts

I have a 2014 silverado 1500 lt with 4K miles. It's passin me off. Keeps dying after I wm stopped and make a right turn. I have to stop in the middle

Of traffic and put it in park and then restart it.

Any help? Any way the dealer fixed this for yall?

Thanks!

I'm with govtech4 on this one. Have the shop foreman do a ride around with you. IMO it sounds like something to do with the electric power steering and the charging system on the truck, but that's just a shot in the dark

Well oh well!!! Today my wife went pickup the kids from school and while she was waiting at a red light, the truck just died on her, so she put it in park and started it and drove off. Almost home she caught another light and she said she was watching the dash rpm and look like it was ready to die out again, almost hitting zero on the rpm, but she put a little throttle into it and it didn't die out. So she came home and I took it for a ten mile drive, caught every red light possible, nothing happened. No indicator lights on the dash, I'll just have to wait until tomorrow and see what the dealer says. Out of all the weeks, it had to happen on the week of our truck cruise around the island (Oahu). I'll keep y'all updated.

So the dealer said it was the air flow regulator going out. I bought the truck brand new. Only reason why I would think it would go out is if it is just bad. Idk like I said just started having problems with it after about 5k miles. I did remove the plug for the regulator to remove the air box it install the putco led daytime running lights. So I unplugged it and plugged it back in. Maybe some dirt got in there? Idk. The issue happened about a week after removing and reinstalling the air box and air flow regulator plug. As of now the dealer fixed it. No issues now.
