"Livernois motorsports has brought our unparalleled experience with direct injection performance experience, to the new 2014+ Silverado/Sierra. Both with the 5.3L Ecotec3 and the 6.2L Ecotec3. We began working on improving the throttle response, and overall driving dynamics of these trucks to be much more responsive, improve the shift feel, and performance level of these great engines. The end results with 93 Octane tuning was an additional 27HP and 47TQ gain on the stock 6.2 and a 29HP and 34TQ gain on the stock 5.3. Combine these gains with our proven transmission programming enhancements and you will notice a complete transformation of the responsiveness and performance of your truck. Add our available CAI for added games of over 10 additional HP and 20TQ on both engines for even more performance."
All this on a canned tune? Can anyone find any dyno results to prove this? Seems a bit high. So getting a custom tune from BB based on your mods (in my case will likely be CAI, Exhaust, maybe headers) would be more benefit than posted above?

I thought about livernois, but after talking to them about tuning, I was a little turned off. They send you the "tuner", then you download your stock files and send it to them. They then send you a tune and then you download it then install in truck. When I asked about changing items in the tune like torque mgmt and what not later on, I felt like I got a bit of a run around and it would be a hassle to change something after the original tune. It seems like it has the disadvantages of a canned tune (not an ideal tune) with the disadvantages of having a tuner tune your truck (inconvenient to have to take back to if something isn't right). If I wanted all out performance like I did with my TBSS, I would have a tuner road or dyno tune it. But since my Silverado is a brick, I wanted flexibility. I can take torque mgmt out and put it back if going on a long trip, change back to an 87 tune when going down south where there doesn't seem to be a lot of 93 octane gas.... I got rid of the top speed governer and when I put a little bigger tires on I have what I need to change the speedo. It was actually a tough choice between the inTune or HPTuners. There are a lot of good people out there that will give or sell you a tune, and of course could always learn a bit myself. But I decided to keep it simple.

The numbers all sound optimistic but in the realm of reality. They lost me with the 20ft lbs gain of the CIA.I have EFI live V2 and would go with wheatly,he had my 010 FI 6.2 spot figgn on.He has done a hand full of these trucks.014 is close to 10k miles, about broke in.If anyone see's a you tube vid of Livernois DI GM truck please post it up here.

One more thing, they have no problem wanting to rip your face off,$600 tuner and $900 CIA.The margins are insulting

  • 2 weeks later...

I emailed them two days ago about seeing a dyno of "Those" gains. I have yet to hear back.

They are pretty big with the EcoBoost trucks, but they aren't considered "the best" on "custom" tunes.

Side note: I also contacted one of my previous Eco tuners, Torrie McPhail (Unleashed Tuning). Torrie is insanely fast on replies, they are short but revisions from past experiences are very fast. He has a few tuned 2014+ GM's....unknown gains though.

He's using the SCT X4 (fabulous handheld), it displays guages and flashes in one unit. Torrie is AMAZING (he actually has written---pretty sure-- canned tunes for SCT on the Eco). But what he does in the custom department is awesome. What I do respect about him is...he will tell you "No" if it's unsafe.

With him it's datalogging and dialing it in....all emailed and great communication.

900 is for the intake and tune installed.

Have you been able to get any info from them? I'd like to see the dyno to show where the power is in the curve. I just saw a dyno from 5startuing that basically shows all the power up top. Good gains, but nothing across the board.
