How long did you wait for your truck?

Recommended Posts

Truck's been sitting on the train at the rail yard for 2 and half weeks with no sign of getting unloaded anytime soon. I'm starting to get a bit nervous for a few reasons.

1. I already signed the paper work and have my first payment coming up on the truck on may 12th. A ways away, but with each passing week it seems to be a lot closer.

2. The dealer is being for the most part silent unless I email them and ask for an update. Today I received an update that said "No truck yet, My Gm is calling daily, but getting no where".

3. I'm technically renting my truck from them until the new one comes I.e. Waiting for something mechanically to go wrong on a truck I don't own anymore, but it's my only means of transportation that I have.

I understand it takes awhile and this subject has been beat to death, but with no end in sight I'm very reluctant to make my first payment on a truck I don't have nor have I even seen it. What would you guys do in my situation? Did I totally f my self by buying the truck before I got it? The main reason I did was it saved me $500 last month to purchase it over this month.

Up until this point the Dealer was awesome to work with, the salesman was the best I've had when buying new.

It also should be noted that when it finally gets to the dealer they still need to install the running boards, and mud flaps. and hopefully not have to fix any dents or scratches.
