Don't you love when...

Recommended Posts

Your truck is in for the second injector replacement in 12k miles! Then you don't hear from the service writer, so you call to see what's up.

Me: Hey, what's up? Is the truck gonna be ready for my trip tomorrow?

Service: It looks like the injector will be finished today.

Me: Great!!! Thanks I was worried about the trip. Were there any service bulletins or anything else it needs?

Service: Well, we just want to get you out today, so we'll deal with those after your trip.

Me: OK. Cool.

Service: Besides, I need to do some body work.

Me: WHAT?

Service: My tech pulled your truck in the bay and scratched the front pass door.

Me: How big of a scratch?

Service: About 4", but it's dented too.

Me: Seriously?!?!?!

Service: Yeah. Sorry, but we'll make it look brand new.

Me: It is brand new!!! THANKS FOR THE UPDATE!...CLICK.

That really does suck. I know I would be mad to, but sometimes sh*t happens. It could have been an employee that didn't care or it could have been a good employee that just screwed up. A good example of the latter of the 2 was when I worked at a building supply company as a delivery guy and the warehouse manager, which has operated forklifts and commercial trucks for longer than I've been alive (30 next month) messed up a customer's tailgate. As long as they're willing to fix it then all is good.

By the way, hate to be technical but your truck isn't brand new anymore. As soon as you signed the papers and drove off the lot it's considered used. On the other end, a vehicle can be 2+ years old and still considered new as long as it's never been titled.

That's unacceptable. If they crashed your truck you should have been notified immediately. Dealerships service departments have caused enough damage to my vehicles to make me never return.

Hope they make it right for you. Don't settle for anything less than perfect.

Here it is. We're in the desert so its dusty but you can see that it's not something that will buff out.

I'm gonna have them remove the dent, then reshoot the door. After that, I'll go over the whole truck to make sure there isn't anything else[emoji57]
