anyone install the in channel vent visors on a 15 yet?

Recommended Posts

This is a project we hope to tackle very soon.. We're going to stay away from the stick ons and move towards the channel versions.. We've had a set of the channels before on the Tahoe.. they held up nicely.. expect for the fact that there is some maring/small scratches on the window where it makes contact with the visor in the channel.. The maring would be on the outside of the window and not the inside.. so if you're planning on doing a darker tint on the windows, this shouldn't affect the outcome.

I think it is one of the safest means of installing these channels.. while if one has not prepped the surface of the door frame for the outside stick on versions.. there's always that chance when entering the car wash.. these can get torn off.. slight chance.. none the less. As for the in channel versions.. the change of damage is reduced.. because of it's streamline shape.

jerseydrew,

There is another thread on board called GMC All Terrain HD. I posted a couple pics of my truck on there that have the in-channel visors. You can take a look there. So far I am happy with them. On my 2007 GMC 1500 I had the ones that go on the outside. I find the in channel is a much cleaner look.

Cheers

If you do go in channel, wait for the weather to warm a little more to make sure they stick good. At least the AVS use double side tape inside the channel still. And don't roll the windows down to soon.

Also, if you plan on getting the front windows tinted, may want to ask your tint place which should be done first.

I have had in channel vent visits for 15yrs on 3 different trucks now, no issues (knock on wood!!!)!!!
