Truck bed off center

Recommended Posts

Just wondering how many people have truck beds off center. My 2014 Sierra crew cab is at the dealerships body shop to get the truck bed square with the cab. If you look from the back of the truck on one side you see about 1/2" to 3/4" of the cab but on the opposite side you can not even see the cab.

The holes of the bed do not allow it to be moved from where it sits. They have to oblong the holes and weld on some new bolts.

So if all these parts are machined are they all wrong or is something else causing this problem?

I know what your saying, but if these are machined parts how many others are off? Either its the cab, frame, or bed something is off. Seeing the bed mismatch with the cab is the only way for me to describe it to the dealer and hope they can figure out whats wrong. I'm sure there are more just like mine, bad batch of parts maybe.

Mine is the same way. I took a string with a nut tied to it and held it at the top upper wheel well and on the drivers side the nut hit the tire. On the passenger side the nut was about a 1/2 inch away from the tire. Not going to sweat it though.

Got it back today and the bed looks perfect now! I know it should have been this way from the start but my dealership service department made it right. Gotta give them credit when the do good by me. They have me down to get the headlights fixed when the lights come in. I didn't tell them about the service bulletin for the headlights, they found it and told me about it.

They probably knocked the bed out when it was shipped.

Has anyone ever seen vehciles loaded onto the train cars.

They drive like animals. Just look for Video's on the net...

I've seen it in person.. They actually had cars going into the air between train cars.

Sorry to dig up an old post. I just noticed my bed is off centered about 1/2" too.

I had some body work done over the summer and they actually had the entire bed off the truck. Idk how I never noticed it until now.

But the truck is covered in salt from the roads, and I can see the corner of the bed that sticks out is covered in salt, and the other corner isnt.

How many bolts hold the bed on? can I just loosen them and align the bed myself? Hate going to the dealer things like this.
