Suspension Impact with Leveling kits

gmyeah

Question

I have a 2008 z71 ext cab sierra, but may trade up to a 2015. My question (due to my experiences with a couple different setups) is with leveling kits / suspension impacts. I’ve used 2 different setups (individually) on my truck (ready-lift spacer kit and the billstein 5100 ride height adjustable shocks). My question is which in theory would have less impact on all the suspension components (cv, ball joints, half shafts, etc.)? These 2 different ways of raising my front end up ~1.5” or 1.8” are doing it in slightly different ways. Thoughts? I know when you mess with your front end like this….you should expect less life out of front end components, but I seem to go through front end parts very quick. If I leave everything stock, is it expected to last that much longer? I guess I’m really asking, what would be the least impactful way of raising my front end up ~2”....should I consider some type of lift with all new components. What if I put a plow on it?

I also have some super springs in the back (to better accommodate payload, trailering).
