iPhone Text Issues

Recommended Posts

I paired my iPhone 6 to my 2015 Silverado. I can receive text messages, but I cannot send a reply message or reply with a phone call using MyLink. I paired my business phone (Samsung Galaxy) and I was able to receive text messages and reply with either text message or call via MyLink. Is anyone else having issues with the iPhone and texting with MyLink?

Have you tried replying with the Siri hands free thing? I use it on my iPhone 6+ in my 15 Sierra daily. Hold the answer button on the steering wheel for a couple seconds, dic will show "waiting for device response", then you hear Siri say something about how can she help you through the truck speakers. Say "text (contact name)", Siri will say "ok, what do you want to say to contact name?" Say your text, she will read it back to you, then say "send" or "edit "if you need to change it.

He's got it spot on... you use the siri pass through to send a text. Push and hold your talk button on the steering wheel until you hear the siri beep noise and then make it an audible command the same as you would to your phone outside of your truck.

This was an apple decision to disable it, not a GM decision

I bought my 2014 in August of 2013 and when I hold the answer button on steering wheel the OnStar voice keeps coming on, it's not Siri. My audio soft version is 000464.

The 2014 Intellilink is not capable of this function. The 2015 has something different hardware wise that allows it to communicate with the iphone. This has been discussed on here somewhere before. But apparently after a huge backlash, gm decided to change the system on the 2015. We 2014 owners are SOL.

Exactly the way it works on my Samsung S5 Android, using Google vs Siri.
