Better rear view camera options

The factory camera in the tailgate on my new 2015 2500 is horrible. Are there any aftermarket cameras that will retrofit into the handle? The resolution is crap compared to the one I had in the old truck which was a RVS system from Costco. I still have the complete camera and display. Is there ANY way to use the infared camera with the display in the dash? I have the 8 inch system now. I may end up putting the whole thing back in and setting the display in the center console for use when pulling my camper and towing other stuff. I kinda miss having that display up always showing what was behind me.

Yup. I'm with you on this. The back-up camera display on my '14 Silverado is virtually useless. After trying it a few times I'm back to using mirrors and head swivelling. Don't know why it'd be such a big deal for them to replace the camera with something that gives a good sharp display. Was driving my daughter's '12 Ram yesterday and was astounded by how clear the camera view was.

 

Come on, GM, do something about this and eliminate this unsafe situation!

I had a 2013 Traverse and the Factory camera was amazing. With the truck my law is blue when I back into the driveway.

 

The sun glares are bad too.

 

I was hopping they would fix it in the 2015's so I could switch out the camera.

Does anybody know of any aftermarket type lens or something that could be swapped out to improve this? I'm interested in this as well just don't know much at all about cameras and what not.
